Pepijn Lambermont, video installation
MUAS #2
Maastricht Unexpected Art Spaces
October 18 to November 16, 2014
Pepijn Lambermont will be showing at Hanneke Bollen, Hoogbrugstraat 56.
He is interested in transformation and, more specifically, in the conditions for surviving systems. His installations depict such processes – from destruction to chaos and reconstruction to order.
The cube is his central motif. The exhibition at Hanneke Bollen is built as an installation around a central work: the video Angel 1-2 Trans-adaptation, in which the rotation of the man and the water merges in the framework of the cube. “Nothing is lost; it just changes shape.”
About the event
MUAS #2 presents the work of artists from this region. The theme of this edition is 1.5 hours. The MUAS partnership will showcase the work of artists who live close-by and yet seem far away – a distance of 1.5 hours away by car. The idea is based on a radius of 100 km from Maastricht – an exciting region that offers a diversity of artistic environments and discourses.
‘A Westerner regards an area that can be reached in approximately 1 to 1.5 hours as his ‘natural’ habitat. So anyone living in Maastricht is at home in a diversity of national (sub) cultures.’ -Mathieu Bruls
